Patty feels that en plein aire is the essence of all that nature has to offer, capturing your emotions for an instant or maybe an hour or two. The presence of light or the sheer beauty of the moment must be recorded quickly. The coastal light of Maine, the South of France and California inspire her, and her passion for painting has been a perfect match with inspirations from her extensive travels.
She also enjoys painting still lifes, and prefers to save these paintings for rainy days.
She divides her time between Carmel, California and Virginia. Patty is a former owner of an art gallery in Virginia. Her paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections across the country.
