She has studied with numerous California watercolorist and received her initial training with the late Dorner Shuyler. She attended workshops over the years with Gerald Brommer, Jane Burnham and Marilyn Simandle, among others. Bobbie is inspired by the beauty of the California coastline and has made countless visits to Mendocino, Noya Harbor, and Bodego Bay, as well as the magnificent Monterey Peninsula, to capture the excitement in these areas.
Although she has traveled and painted extensively throughout the world, she returns to the beloved landscapes and old Victorian houses she finds in Carmel, Carmel Valley, Monterey and Pacific Grove.
Still lifes and floral paintings are also an important part of her continuing growth and determination to work hard and set new goals for herself. Her paintings are in private collections nationally and abroad.
Currently Bobbie paints in her home studio in Corral de Tiera and her beautiful work can be seen at the Venture Art Gallery in the Portola Plaza Hotel in Monterey. "I paint because it makes me happy. I love what I see and try to communicate that emotion. I want the viewer to feel that way too."
