I work in oil on canvas and wherever I go I am always looking for an interesting composition to paint. Fall colors in landscapes and the long shadows cast in the early morning or late afternoon usually catch my attention for a painting. When I am not doing plein air paintings I enjoy creating still life paintings in my studio. My style is part realism and part contemporary, I like using a lot of paint for the background and strive for a painterly effect with a lot of thought to the mood the colors give.
I was fortunate at an early age to go to Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles on a scholarship for a summer session. In college I knew that becoming an artist had become my identity. I continue to learn from other artists, workshops and each new painting helps me to evolve as an artist.
