Normally I paint landscapes and still life in oil or waterolors. But during the lockdown and the recent turmoil I decided to paint portraits to honor these voices for change.
This past year with Covid and the Lockdown, of course all shows were cancelled. The political temperature was at an all time high. With school shootings and the killings of unarmed black men by police people began to protest. I realized how these people stood out in the struggle for human rights. They became Unintended Icons.
