DEANNA DECHAURON ZEN MODERN DESIGN
Deanna DeChauron’s art revolves around paper used as medium to create image.
The inherent qualities of the fiber, its texture, its malleability and color have shaped her creations for over 20 years. The time-intensive result is achieved through careful choice of fibers, controlled gentle cooking, rinsing and beating, as well as skill-full forming of shaped designs and creating modeled design pattern surfaces.
To fully appreciate the artist’s work one must look beneath the visual image, weather sea-inspired or Asian symbolism, and respond to the inner sense of serenity and layered thought that gives birth to the creation. In this uncontrolled instinctive response the customer completes the creative circle.
Corporate and private collectors throughout the United States, Canada, England, Australia and Japan have responded to the artist’s work. The late Liberace collected her Carmel Bach Festival art on his only trip to Carmel. The artist has received numerous awards and exhibited as an invited artist at benefit shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
