Nancy Olaeta
Nancy grew up on the peninsula around art and artists as her father was a professional artist. She was lucky to have inherited her talent and joy of painting from him. Art was always Nancy's favorite subject in school and after raising a family and a career as a floral designer, she decided to concentrate on her artwork. Nancy paints at home using oils on canvas. Subjects come from her garden and her travels around the state, country and abroad. Nancy's camera is always ready to capture the play of light and shadow on the landscape, with her hope to transfer that experience onto the canvas. Although she has taken a few classes over the years, Nancy considers herself self-taught. She finds her paintings improving with the many hours of work that she put into them. Nancy is also a fused glass artist and has a koi fish on display at CHOMP. Nancy is a member of the Salinas Valley Art Gallery Art Unlimited 1st place Monterey County Fair - portraits 2014 1st place Monterey County Fair - Ca.
