What is your style and what media do you use?
I paint in acrylics in a style that is more impressionistic than realistic. I gravitate to bold colors and contrasts, which for me results in a pleasing painting.
What subjects do you commonly portray?
The criteria for me in selecting a subject for painting are based on two questions: does it catch my eye so I want to linger there and does it feel meaningful to me? If the answer to both questions is a resounding "Yes", I know I am ready to commit to creating a painting. Some of my favorite subject matters include scenes of our stunning coastline, my beautiful garden and the lovely floral arrangements it yields, special pets and yummy edibles for still life subjects.
What are your typical sizes?
I paint on canvases that typically are 16x20, 11x14, 12x16, and 18x24 as well as the occasional square canvas measuring 8x8, 10x10 or 12x12. I've also used ones measuring 8x24 and 8x16 both vertically and horizontally. I would be glad to paint on other sizes if requested.
Do you make reproductions?
I often make copies of my paintings as giclees on stretch canvases. My original artworks are available in Venture Gallery as well as prints and greeting cards.
